The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) claimed today that the Rafah Brigade of the military wing of Hamas has been destroyed after seizing complete operational control over the entire urban area.

Brigadier General Itzik Cohen told reporters that at least 2,308 fighters have been killed by the IOF, further claiming that over 13 kilometers of tunnels have been destroyed.

“The Rafah Brigade has been defeated…Their four battalions have been destroyed, and we have completed operational control over the entire urban area,” Cohen said.

Cohen said that the IOF located 203 separate, but interconnected, tunnels in the Philadelphi Corridor on the Gaza-Egypt border.

“Most of [the tunnels] we have destroyed…We are operating at the other sites to investigate them, and when we will finish investigating, they will be destroyed.”

“There are a total of nine underground sites [tunnels] that cross into Egyptian territory, but they have collapsed, they are not usable, they are not active,” Cohen said.
